In a dilapidated apartment building, Marc has rented a cheap apartment on the third floor after the terrible death of his pregnant wife. Piles of shoes, stickers on the doors, and television noise indicate numerous neighbors, yet he has barely seen any of them. When he tries to open his apartment door after a visit to the clinic, the key doesn't fit. And his name is no longer on the doorbell. When his own wife opens the door after repeatedly rattling and ringing, he begins to doubt his sanity.
