For four years, Herzfeld has been the chief forensic pathologist at the BKA and head of the Extremism Division. He is conscientious, always punctual, and an absolute authority in his field. His profession requires him to remain calm even in extreme situations. However, he barely manages to do so when he finds a note in the head of a brutally mutilated corpse with his seventeen-year-old daughter's name and a phone number on it. He calls and hears her voice, desperate, pleading for help! He doesn't yet suspect that a body discovered on Helgoland is connected to this and that he will have to guide a young comic book artist by phone through an autopsy, as Helgoland is unreachable for him due to a storm.
