The ten-year-old boy is 1.43 meters tall, pale, and appears very serious. He suffers from a brain tumor and is expected to live only a few more weeks. At the age of four, he was removed by child protective services from horrific circumstances and placed in a children's home. He is highly intelligent, loves encyclopedias, and seems much more mature than children his age. After a hypnosis session, believing he remembers a past life as a murderer, he insists on turning himself in to the police, and therefore demands a lawyer—Robert Stern, the master of his profession.
