Forensic pathologist Paul Herzfeld (Moritz Bleibtreu) finds a note with his daughter Hannah's cell phone number in the head of a corpse during an autopsy. Hannah has been kidnapped, and the kidnapper sends Herzfeld on a mad chase from clue to clue, from corpse to corpse. When the trail leads to Helgoland, Herzfeld asks the young comic artist Linda (Jasna Fritzi Bauer) for help, as the island is cut off from the outside world by a storm. In the abandoned island clinic, Linda, supported by janitor Ender (Fahri Yardım), confronts the killer's devious game.
