Then, at the beginning, you'd better not make the same mistakes I did!
No one who steps onto a soccer field for the first time and doesn't make too much of a fool of themselves will show up at a first-division Bundesliga club the next day and demand to be considered for the starting lineup in the next top match. I, however, as an author, was just as presumptuous by sending my very first manuscript to all German A-publishers immediately. It was, of course, rejected with the words: \u201eWe recognize talent, but also all the beginner mistakes one can make.\u201c<\/p>\n
My online course, \u201eMeet Your Master,\u201c deals with these and other experiences, among other things. <\/p>\n
And I have to admit, when Heiner Lauterbach asked me if I wanted to participate, I was very skeptical at first. Because let me say this upfront: I am not a \u201emaster.\u201c I have emphasized this again and again in numerous interviews, I would never call myself that. I also had great doubts as to whether I could meet the expectations that interested parties place on such an online course. Because in my opinion, there is no master plan for a bestseller, no recipe that you can simply replicate. At least I don't possess one. <\/p>\n
However, there are many questions from people who want to turn their hobby (writing) into a profession. And a large part of my readings, at least when they take place in smaller settings, is about exactly that: that I try to share my experiences with readers. <\/p>\n
This course is therefore not an instruction manual, but at best a suggestion. You can reject or discuss my tips, hints, and advice. But perhaps you will also find them helpful, motivating, and inspiring.
I'll be frank: if you have no idea, if you lack the story you absolutely want to put to paper, this course won't help you either. However, if you share the same passion as I do, namely wanting to write day after day so you can fulfill yourself, this course might be of use to you.
And perhaps then you too will succeed in realizing your dream of being able to live from writing.
