I recently saw the veterinarian and initiator of "Dog Doctor" Met Jenny Klemmt. In her mobile veterinary practice (a converted ambulance where she can treat initial wounds), she treats the animals in Berlin's hotspots free of charge.
This way, she achieves two effects: through the animals, she reaches the people, gains their trust, and learns their stories. Jenny sees herself not only as a veterinarian but also as a counselor, companion, and liaison to the collaborating social workers. For her dedication, she was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in March 2006. The project „Dog Doc“ is financed by private donations.
