Happy, exciting New Year!

I fear 2017 will be a tough year...

Let's start with the good news:

After years of the film industry holding back, it seems like three of my novels will be adapted for cinema and television this year. However, I won't truly believe it's happening until filming begins, so I'm still a bit reserved about it. As soon as everything is finalized, there will be more detailed information.

pupsistinki_frontThen my friend Stolli illustrated a story that I originally came up with for my children. Don't worry, it's not about psychopaths and serial killers, but about Pupsi & Stinki; incidentally also the title of my first children's book (age 18 months), which will be released on March 1st.

More information can be found here!

And finally, a thriller that I was inspired to write back in 2013, was completed surprisingly earlier than expected (that happens when you write like you're possessed), which is why „AchtNacht“ will be released by the Leipzig Book Fair on March 14th.

Briefly, the content:

eightnine_instaIt is 8/8, 8:08 AM.

You have 80 million enemies.

Will you survive the „EightNight“?

Imagine there was a death lottery. You could throw the name of someone you hated into a pot. On „EightNight“ on August 8th of each year, one name would be drawn from all the submissions. The chosen one would be an outcast, a fugitive, for eight nights. Anyone in Germany could kill them without penalty – and would be rewarded with a bounty of ten million euros.

This is not a thought experiment. It is deadly serious. It is a mass psychological experiment that got out of hand.

And your name was drawn!

And that's just the first three months of the year.

Which brings me to the bad news: a lot is happening in 2017, so unfortunately I won't be able to plan and carry out a full reading tour like I usually do. I need the time for writing and for visiting my international readers, but most importantly, for my family. In the last ten years, I've always been on tour for at least a month, usually in the fall. But this year, my daughter is starting school, and I absolutely want to be there for that and not travel again right away.

But here, too, there is (small) cause for relief: I won't completely disappear from the scene in 2017. There will still be readings throughout the year: at book fairs, events, and festivals. The dates will be regularly posted on www.sebastianfitzek.de/events updated.

If you have absolutely no interest in seeing me live, reading a new book by me, or receiving any other information about me, then you've probably just accidentally read a whole lot of useless text. 😉

Nevertheless, I wish you an exciting, happy, and healthy new year!

You

Sebastian
