Hello and warm greetings from Berlin,
There's a nice piece of news – I've been awarded the „Book Darling“ during my research trip to Austria.
„The Child“ placed 2nd in the Thriller category.
Regarding the price:
The "Buchliebling" literary award has been presented annually in Austria since 2006. It is a public choice award: all bookstores in Austria are invited to display voting slips, and numerous schools from all over Austria also participate. Thus, the award reflects the reading tastes of Austria in a representative way.
„Which of the books you read last year was your favorite?“ was the traditional question for the "Book Favorite" competition, which runs from January to March. This year, it was held for the first time in cooperation with the Schwarzer publishing agency and the echo medienhaus.
Over 60,000 votes were cast via the internet and through ballot submissions at hundreds of partner bookstores, from which the winning books in the 12 categories were determined and awarded at a dazzling book night in Vienna's City Hall.
Particularly noteworthy is the number of different book titles. A gigantic number, well over 9,000 different book titles, received votes from the readership in this year's competition. A beautiful sign of the diversity of the book world, which must be preserved.
