PRESS RELEASE:
eBook New Release and Premiere for Crime Fans on buecher.de
Premiere at the Leipzig Book Fair: the slightly different eBook by Fitzek on buecher.de
So far, eBooks have been the digitized form of books and only came onto the market after the book's publication. An eBook (also "eBook" or "ebook," from the English "electronic book") or, in German, "E-Buch" (from "electronic book"), attempts, in the broadest sense, to make the medium of the book available in digital form with its media-typical characteristics.
The online bookstore buecher.de has now further developed this with thriller author Sebastian Fitzek: in a hitherto unique experiment. In the e-book version of his cult novel "Splitter," the Berlin-based journalist and bestselling author has had a preface specially and uniquely inserted for his digital readers – which is not included in the original book. This makes the e-book a standalone reading product for the first time. While e-books were previously only digital copies of the print title, buecher.de, together with Droemer Knaur, is now testing new possibilities that the e-book medium opens up. In the future, any kind of expansion would be conceivable: images, videos, or special texts that are only included in the e-book. Author Sebastian Fitzek has recognized this, refers to the e-book medium itself in the preface, and simultaneously uses it to address his readers:
At the Leipzig Book Fair, Fitzek will be a guest on March 19th, also with his innovative eBook. And he's right on trend. More information about the new eBook can be found in the buecher.de blog at http://budurl.com/ebookbeibuecher.de. Direct download of the Splitter eBook exclusively on the buecher.de website All eBooks in the online shop www.buecher.de.
